Our commitment to the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013.
Last updated: 22 October 2026
Security services involve handling personal information every day — at gatehouses, in control rooms and in client and employee records. Cyborg Security takes this responsibility seriously and has implemented measures to comply with POPIA’s eight conditions for lawful processing.
| POPIA condition | How we comply |
|---|---|
| Accountability | An Information Officer (the Director) is responsible for compliance and registered with the Information Regulator. |
| Processing limitation | We collect only what is necessary for security, contractual or legal purposes, with a lawful basis. |
| Purpose specification | Information is collected for defined purposes and retained only as long as needed. |
| Further processing limitation | Information is not used for unrelated purposes. |
| Information quality | We take reasonable steps to keep information accurate and up to date. |
| Openness | Our Privacy Policy and PAIA Manual are publicly available. |
| Security safeguards | Access controls, secure storage of registers, CCTV footage and uploaded documents, and staff confidentiality undertakings. |
| Data subject participation | People may request access to, correction or deletion of their information. |
Every form includes a POPIA consent checkbox. Form submissions are delivered by email to authorised staff and stored securely in our website database. Uploaded documents are protected from public access.
